Clinical Rotations for Veterinary Students
As a core clinical affiliate of the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine, Reata Veterinary Hospital is proud to offer a dynamic, real-world training environment for veterinary students in their clinical year. Our hospital offers separate clinical rotations in small animal and equine medicine. Students may choose to participate in one or both, gaining valuable hands-on experience with a focus on professional development, case-based learning, and compassionate care.
Students are welcomed as part of the team and are encouraged to participate in all aspects of patient care, provided the supervising veterinarian feels the student is ready and the situation is suitable for learning. With a strong focus on safety, communication, and professionalism, we help students build clinical confidence in a supportive environment.
During their rotation, students may be involved in:
- Physical exams
- Diagnostic workups
- Case discussions and development of treatment plans
- Surgical observation and assisting when appropriate
- Client communication and education
- Equine field service calls for preventive care, lameness evaluations, and emergencies
Our team is dedicated to helping veterinary students grow into thoughtful, capable, and confident professionals, ready to step into practice or pursue advanced training.
We’re proud to support the next generation of veterinarians and look forward to being part of your clinical year!
