Dr. Rebecca Morales will join the Reata family starting in September 2025 as a mixed animal
practitioner. Dr. Morales will recieve her DVM from the University of Arizona in August of 2025.
Dr. Morales was born and raised in Lovington, New Mexico. Growing up in a rural environment
she developed her love for animal healthcare while helping care for the feral dog/cat population
as well as her own personal pets. Dr. Morales received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice
from New Mexico State University, while completing Air Force ROTC. After graduation Dr.
Morales spent the next 8 years in the United States Air force as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer
who was able to be a part of fabulous maintenance crews tasked to maintain aircraft such as the MC-130Js, HC-130Js and the CV-22s. She also loves education and leadership study and was able to apply that passion as an instructor for future Air Force Officers at New Mexico State University. During this time she completed her Master of Science degree in forensic science from Aspen University.
Dr. Morales’s professional interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, lameness and
leadership studies.
Outside of work Dr. Morales loves to spend time with her husband Efren, 4-year-old son Henry
and their furbabies. Some hobbies they love to do include hiking, weightlifting, riding
ATVs/dirtbikes, wakeboarding, and off roading.
